Micki McWade


Micki McWade, LMSW, is the author of Getting Up, Getting Over, Getting On: A Twelve Step Guide to Divorce Recovery, Daily Meditations for Surviving a Breakup, Separation or Divorce, and Healing You, Healing Me: A Divorce Group Leader’s Guide. She is a clinical social worker, an Individual and group psychotherapist and has a practice in New York with a particular focus on divorce issues. She develops, facilitates and supervises Twelve Step Divorce Recovery groups and teaches Parenting Through Divorce classes, which help parents recognize and avoid the pitfalls of divorce for children. Micki is an experienced divorce coach and works with matrimonial attorneys to help her clients divorce with dignity as part of the interdisciplinary team model of Collaborative Divorce. She has taught at the State University of New York on the subject of divorce and has been on the faculty of numerous national conferences.

    Micki is the mother of four adult children and has been through divorce herself. Aside from her personal experience, she led a Twelve Step Divorce Support group for almost ten years and has witnessed hundreds of people as they went through divorce.
